The Process

Our design team collaborated with 2XL to explore the daily challenges faced by retail workers responsible for floor maintenance. Research revealed that traditional mop and bucket systems were impractical in stores without access to sinks for waste disposal, and inconsistent cleaning methods often left gaps in sanitation. A hands-free solution with built-in dispensing and waste collection could significantly reduce cross-contamination and cleanup efforts.
Design
The goal was to create a standalone, intuitive system that could dispense fresh cleaning materials, apply detergent as needed, and prevent exposure to dirty water and pads — all within a compact footprint. It had to be ergonomic, easy to operate with a short learning curve, and visually distinct from other floor cleaning tools.
Deliver
Our design team delivered WindUp — a sleek, upright cleaning unit equipped with a one-touch revolving roll system and a precision spray applicator. Its uniquely angle head and clean lines, self-contained cartridge, and upright stance set it apart from traditional floor cleaning solutions.

Inside and out, the Cove dishwasher embodies the craftsmanship and design excellence expected from the Sub-Zero and Wolf family of gourmet appliances. Collaborating closely with Cove’s engineers, our design team focused on elevating the user experience through thoughtful, refined interior design details. The result is a professional-grade dishwasher that is as elegant as it is intuitive.
A sleek stainless steel interior, hidden touch control panel, and a discreet floor-projected status light allow this ultra-quiet appliance to blend seamlessly into luxury kitchen environments. Cove also features a robust suite of pre-programmed cleaning cycles, as well as integrated water softening to optimize cleaning performance.
Inside, the dishwasher is designed for both flexibility and clarity. Our team helped create a fully adjustable racking system with intuitive green-accented touchpoints, signaling every movable component. The middle and lower racks include dual fold-down tines to accommodate deep or shallow bowls and plates, while the upper rack tilts to make room for oversized platters. An ergonomic top-rack silverware tray ensures optimum cleaning and effortless unloading.
